Posture: the position from which movement begins and ends.

Posture has a significant influence on breathing, muscle function, joint health, circulation and internal organ support. If what you're doing for extended periods on a daily basis is negatively affecting your posture, you need to fix it! Next time you’re at work, take a look around your office and take a few minutes to study the posture of those that are around you. Sadly, you will find that the majority exhibits poor posture, on some it’ll me more pronounced then others. This is a result of many different factors that can be traced back our childhood days and the nature of our lives today.

If you sit at a desk all day, find a way to get up and move around. Even though you have email, get up and walk to a co-worker’s cubicle to deliver that message.

I also can not stress enough about how important it is to exercise with proper form when you’re in the gym. If you’re exercising a few hours a week the least you can do is focus on your posture while loading your system with weights. If you can't maintain proper alignment during a lift, reduce the load. We don't want to be feeding the compensation monster. When you’re out side of gym your body is fighting gravity because of your poor posture, you don’t want to get into the gym and start doing what will further enhance this issue.

Work on your posture and feel good and look good!
